Doctors

Dr Alagu Rajkumar (m)

Qualifications:
MBBS (1991) MRCGP, DRCOG,FFCI

GMC Number: 4453293

Dr Rajkumar has been a front line General Medical Practitioner for well over two decades.  He is nationally acknowledged for his pioneering work on both Digital transformation of healthcare services and on modernising General Practice.

He leads the team on the current transformation of patient services at the Grange Medical Practice.

Dr Rajkumar is also the Deputy Chief Medical Information Officer for the NHS in England and Founder/ Chair of the NHS Clinical Leaders Network.

Dr John Hawkswell (m)

Qualifications:
MB ChB (1991)

Dr Hawkswell is an experienced GP with further areas of experience in Minor Surgery and Joint Injections.

Dr David Fowers (m)

Qualifications:
Medicine (1983)

Dr Fowers is a GP with 34 years of experience, having begun his career as a GP in 1988.

He also has a specialism in Diabetes.

Dr Livingstone Solomon (m)

Qualifications:
MBBS (1995), MRCS (2005), MPhil (2009), MRCGP (2013), PgDipLMHSS (2016)

Dr Solomon is a multi-skilled medical professional, with over 20 years’ experience working as a doctor in the NHS.

In addition to his experience as a GP, he also has at least 6 months experience in each of the following specialities: General surgery, Accident and Emergency, Paediatrics, ENT, Plastic surgery, Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Upper GI and Colorectal surgeries. In addition, he has 3 months experience in Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine, Thoracic and Endocrine surgeries.

He is currently completing his qualification to become a GP trainer.

Dr Ahmad Ilyas (m)

MBBS 1997

Dr Ahmad is a Senior experienced General Medical Practitioner with over 15 years of experience as a GP in the local community. He is part of the Senior Clinical team at the Grange Medical Practice.

Prior to this he had also had experience of hospital specialties such as A&E, Paediatrics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Urology and Gynaecology.

As Dr Ahmad grew up in the area around the practice, he is passionate about supporting his local area patients which is very diverse and also has some hard to reach communities. He is committed to giving the patients the very best of the care and services that the NHS can offer.

He is also highly regarded in the local community as an ardent health service reformer and has strong links with local community leaders and groups.

Dr Ahmad also speaks Fluent Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Dr Fiona Stockwell (f)

Dr Amina Aliyu (f)

Dr Amina is a newly qualified GP with almost 20 years’ experience working as a medical officer and General Physician in Nigeria and the UAE, before coming to the UK in 2019.

She is currently completing her qualification to become Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine and Functional Medicine.

Her passion is in preventing / reversing chronic disease by empowering patients to be PRO-Active in their personal health.

Her Motto is – “Prevention is Better than Cure.”

Languages spoken: Hausa and English.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Kathryn Iredale (f)

Qualifications:
RGN (1996), RSCN (1998), BSc Healthcare Studies (2000), MSc Advanced Nurse Practitioner (2006)

Kathryn is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner with previous experience as a Registered General Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse.

She has a special interest in Children and Young People.

Jane Grieve (f)

Head of Nursing Team

Qualifications:
RGN (1991), BSC (Hons) DN, MSC Advanced Nurse Practitioner (2011)

Jane Grieve is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years Advanced clinical experience. In her nursing career she has worked in Manchester, New Zealand, France and Huddersfield.

She has a special interest in Women’s Health (particularly related to menopause), and also runs Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) clinics at the practice.

Rachel Hawkswell (f)

Qualifications:
RGN (1993), Midwife (1995), Postgraduate Public Health (2008), MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (2019).

Rachel Hawkswell is an experienced Nurse and Midwife who has been practicing as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner since 2019. Outside of working in general practice, Rachel has a special interest in alternative health therapies.

Pavanjit Kaur (f)

Qualifications:
BSc Adult nursing- 1st class honours, PG DIP Practice Nursing, MSc Advanced Clinical Practice 

Pavanjit has worked at the Grange for 6 years, recently achieving her Advanced Clinical Practice qualification and undertaking her MSc.

She has a background as a Practice Nurse with special interests in Diabetes, Respiratory Disease Management and cervical Screening.

Advanced Practitioners hold clinical sessions in the same way that a doctor does. They are able to prescribe a full range of medications as well as refer you on for further treatment or investigations should you require this. All Advanced Practitioners working within the surgery have undertaken further training and studying which allows them to work independently.

Christine is an experienced Registered Nurse and is also a Registered Midwife.

Christine specialises in Asthma/COPD, Women’s Health and Children’s Health.

Linda Flanagan (f)

Further Information

Qualifications:
Physio and rehabilitation assistant (1995), HCA (2006), Phlebotomist (2007), Sheltered Housing Management (2008)

Linda is a Healthcare assistant with 15 years’ experience, having also worked as an assistant in Physio and Rehabilitation, and in Sheltered Housing Management.

As well as being a HCA, Linda has also worked as a Care Coordinator for the practice since 2016.

Practice Pharmacist

The practice Pharmacist deals with many medicines and prescription related issues that arise in every GP practice on a day to day basis.

This includes liaison with hospitals, community pharmacies, community nurses and care homes to ensure safe and effective care.

Attached Staff

The practice also benefits from having very close links with District Nurses, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Midwives, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Podiatry.
