Tackling Health Inequalities: A Collaborative Initiative
We’re working to close the gap in healthcare disparities and provide equitable care for everyone.
We are excited to announce the launch of an exciting new project this week, aimed at tackling health inequalities within the local community. At The Grange Group Practice, we firmly believe that everyone should have equitable access to health services, regardless of age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background.
In partnership with dedicated organisations and community groups; Public Health, Pennine Breast Screening, the National Diabetes Prevention Programme, and Local Services 2 You (LS2Y), we’re launching a series of health awareness sessions in local community hotspots. Our initiative will kick off this week at Masjid Riza in Birkby, where we’ll be hosting a session around Friday prayers. We’ll be discussing the importance of proactive health screening and encouraging attendees to connect with their GP practice to participate in cervical, bowel, and breast screenings, as well as NHS health checks for those aged 40-74 without a long-term condition.
We plan to hold these sessions every two months, visiting places of worship and community centres to raise awareness and answer any related questions. By doing so, we hope to foster open discussions and encourage proactive engagement with health services across the community.
We invite everyone to share this message widely to help us spread the word. If you would like us to visit your local community centre or place of worship, or if you’re interested in volunteering to support this initiative, please get in touch with us.
